Ask Jordan

Hi, Jordan! Magne from Norway here! I loved how you broke down your sounds on the Keyboard Madness DVD. That was using the Kurzweil setup. Any chance we´re gonna see some more of that with the Kronos and with the amazing music made after that time?

Hey Jordan, I've got a question about performing at live shows. I've recently come to realize how hard it is to avoid that stern face, lost in concentration while playing. Is there a way to practice a more outgoing expression while on stage?

Hey Jordan. Your sounds are the best I've heard and I noticed you use Omnisphere. When you play live, do you use midi or have you imported the patches into your keyboard? If so, how do I get Omnisphere patches in my Oasys? Thanks (:

Hey Jordan. I've been meaning to ask about the lead synth in "My Last Farewell". At 1:38 in the solo you make a squealing pitch bend. How did you make that raspy squeal? Is it FM? If so, do you modulate frequency or depth of the effect? Cheers!

Hi Jordan, my name is Mike (I live in the UK). I love your new Hungarian Dance. It's so good - Brahms would have been proud to call it his own. Is there any chance you could publish a PDF or MIDI of the piano part please? Best wishes, Mike

Hi Jordan, First of all thank you for your generosity and for being so accessible to your fans. I've been following DT for over 20 years and your solo work is inspiring. Can you please post a vid of the correct fingering for DT's "Wait For Sleep"?

Hi! I was wondering if you could tell me how you created the first keyboard patch of Overture 1928 (the deep D pad in the beginning of the song). Also, did you use sounds from other sources than the Kurzweil keyboard on the SFAM album? Thanks a lot!

Rick Wakeman once said that his study of Prokofiev greatly influenced his composition. What masters have most informed your compositions? Thank you for the OC!

re: Pocket Piano For classical piano practice, how would you rate the action of the Pocket Piano? With 10 being like a real piano and 1 being a toy. As you know, action is important.

Hello Jordan, thank you for this amazing site! How do I make a cool wah lead similar to your Kurzweil's in DT Live at Budokan? I tried connecting my own K2600XS with a JP Crybaby but failed. Am I using a wrong pedal? Have a great day!

Hey Jordan. My question is about arpeggios. What is a good way to build that skill in the left hand? I can get an easy and clean 2 octave on in the right, but struggle mightily in the left.

What is the best way to connect my Kronos to my iPhone/iPad to use it as a controller for SampleWiz 2?

Hey Jordan! Hope you’re doing well, I’m starting to write more material for my solo project, and I’m having trouble coming up with names for my tracks as they’re instrumental, so I’m wondering how do you come up with names for instrumental tracks?

Jordan, I'm TOTALLY ready to buy a Pocket Piano. But I can't seem to find any online place that sells them except their website which quotes in euros and seems to ship from Spain. Do they have ANY US distribution?
